| DESIGN NAME: Nostalgia PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: Being comprehensive and unruly, the design plan is in search of a new definition for the space by incorporating the elements "LOFT", "nostalgia" UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Composed of the characteristics "consolidation& OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Favored by the client, the dark blue and green, the retro-style illuminations, the old-style red brick walls and wooden works, and the exposed concrete walls and ceilings exhibit LOFT style. This is the amiable residence full of nostalgia for happiness. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in June 2017 in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The compositions of LOFT style encompass iron works, exposed plumbing, cement materials, decorative cabinets, and Edison lamps that fill the cold furniture with warm idiosyncrasy. This is the design skill harmoniously considering the qualities of both atmosphere and functionality meanwhile. To demonstrate the decorations disclosing North European style, the designer favors the single leather chair, old-fashioned TV, and vinyl record player that unveil the topic of design idea blatantly. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 138 square meters. TAGS: Interior Design, Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The open layout contains the living room, kitchen and bar in the same space, in which the combination of long dining table, exposed plumbing, exposed concrete walls, and wooden floors has made the residence convenient for either working or gathering. Adorned with red bricks, the TV wall strengthens the LOFT style while manifesting the coarse texture in the meantime. CHALLENGE: Being available for working table as well, the long dining table implicitly distinguishes the living room from the bar area. Attracting the attentions are the compound spaces, in which having light meals and storing food in the bar area, and studying and eating in the kitchen.
