| DESIGN NAME: SERFA PLUS PRIMARY FUNCTION: Armchair and footstool INSPIRATION: This set was inspired by the work of Sergio Rodrigues, Ricardo Fasanello and the strong identification that their works have with the Brazilian culture. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Serfa Plus is a contemporary design set consisting of armchair and footstool. This set has great personality, since it brings together in its features two great references of modern Brazilian design: Sergio Rodrigues and Ricardo Fasanello. The result of this mix is a unique and irreverent aesthetic set, which combines ergonomics, comfort and elegance using wood, metal and leather. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With its irreverent and modern lines, the Serfa Plus is an invitation to the comfort of ergonomics. Whatever the environment is: formal or informal, home or office, it brings to its user the feeling of refinement and coziness. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and finished in April 2017 in Gramado, and was exhibited at Casapronta Furniture Store in May 2017. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The materials used in its manufacture are wood, metal and leather. Tauari wood is crafted in modern joinery techniques, and its pieces are interlocked and joined together with the help of metal pieces. The seat and headrest are made using upholstery techniques with patent leather. To better adapt to the user, the headrest has height adjustment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Armchair: Width 710mm x Depth 840mm x Height 720mm Footstool: Width 659mm x Depth 512mm x Height 338mm TAGS: Armchair, footstool, Brazilian design, Modern, Brasilidade, confort RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The researches were about the constructive and conceptions methods of Sergio Rodrigues and Ricardo Fasanello. The main idea was to try to be faithful to the techniques used in the furniture developed by these two great masters. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge during the manufacturing and assembly process was finding the right angle for the slope of the head rest. Any mistake could condemn the ergonomics of the product. NAME: ZANINI DE ZANINE PROFILE: Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1978, Zanini de Zanine grew up watching his father, José Zanine Caldas work. He trained with Sergio Rodrigues, when he produced his first mobile. In 2002 he graduated in Industrial Design at PUC-Rio. From 2003, he began producing solid wood furniture, with pieces of demolition - columns, beams and posts of old houses - baptized as "Contemporary Carpentry." From 2005, he began to create a new line of furniture pieces produced industrially using controlled origin wood and different materials such as plastic, acrylic, metals and other parts of manufactured products. To represent this new furniture line, Zanini creates in 2011 Studio Zanini. He received the most prestigious Design awards in Brazil and abroad for creating furnitures in both segments and exhibited in major national and international events in the area. Today Zanini sign pieces to large national and international brands such as Tolix (France), Poltrona Frau, Cappellini and Slamp (Italy) and Espasso (USA).
