DESIGN NAME:
Gasea

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Cliff House

INSPIRATION:
The east of the architecture faces Pacific cliff, so there is an excellent view of sea, and the west side of the coastal mountains, the sunshine will become weak after 3 pm, so the facades of the building use different types of glass, and there is a lot of trees in the building-related position in consideration of the sunshine, and trees are planted in the interior of the building, expecting the greatest light source and making the visual penetration with the natural.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The east side of the building is the Pacific cliff, and on the west side of the coastal mountains, the amount of sunshine will become weak after 3 pm, so the facades of the buildings are of different types of glass, expecting the best amount of light and making the best of the natural environment Visual penetration, the roof layer set energy-saving board waterproof coating and placed small gravel, the construction base of a large number of planting trees as shade and the corresponding response to the natural environment.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The gallery is linked with the route between guest room, pool and hall. After the events are finished, every space can obtain its own privacy. Through the U-shaped glass light transmission but not to see can provide the privacy of the room, and fixed glass is to enhance the connection and visibility between indoor and outdoor space; the clear opening window not only provide ventilation, but also to strengthen the user's proximity to the pool, and the panoramic views of the sea can be enjoyed, so that residents can feel the interior timing and lighting changes.

The project designed in April 2017 and will finish in 2018 in Taitung city, Taiwan

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The landscape of the base is presented with height difference natural landscape style, and there is a lot of planting trees in the building-related position in consideration of the amount of sunshine, and trees are planted in the interior of the building, and a lot of glass of building make the interior feel the natural environment as well as indoor and outdoor fusion of life patterns. The second floor is designed by the idea of overlooking, which is expresses geometric shape. Two floors are connected by large atrium space indoor to challenge the regular outlook and closed floors of modern architecture.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The space is 1230 sq. m.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The main body of the building is built by RC concrete structure and steel structure; the metal materials are mainly Aluminum. The iron materials are used inside to enhance the strength of the structure, corresponding to the typhoon and the northeast monsoon, and the powder coating is used outside to resist the corrosion from sea breeze.

CHALLENGE:
The architecture is located at the east coast of Taiwan. The west side of the architecture is protected by coastal mountains, therefore, there are a lot of windows face the east side of the architecture, whereas, a lot of trees are planted at the west side to ease the impact from the sunshine in the afternoon. The north side is the short side of the architecture and plants extended to the roof by following the slope. Therefore, it not only blocks the cold north wind, but also makes the demarcation line between land and architecture blurred.
