DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Tomizawa Music School 50th Concert

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Public Relations Activities

INSPIRATION:
Tomizawa music classroom (piano lesson) which sent many talented pianists. In this poster, based on the shape of the piano itself, I thought to express the harmony and grace of music. It is also the year of the 50th anniversary, so I thought about expressing its history by overlaying lines on almost the same orbit. History goes the same way. However, while gradually changing the trajectory.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This poster was produced for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary concert held by Tomizawa Music School. The amorphous shape in the center, colored with luxurious gradations, seems to be in the form of a piano, it also seems to be the flow of the melody of music itself. At that time, music is an art that is highly synchronous and volatile, which can only be expressed on the spot. On the other hand, I thought that I wanted to express "WA-Japanese Style" or "MA-between spaces" that is Japan

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This poster was posted in a place with high public utilities such as actual performance venues, libraries, public halls. Because of the nature of the concert, it was intended for participants in the music classroom and their families and acquaintances, but for other people who are interested in music, they will be posted in those places. This poster is also a medium for announcing concerts and at the same time it is designed to function as part of such environment and it can be appreciated as one art.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project starts from December 2016 until 4/2 on the day of the concert. Meanwhile, it was posted in libraries, Rotary clubs, public halls, concert halls, etc., mainly in Maebashi City, the host city.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
No shooting, no talent, no logotype. With an abstract form and the 50th anniversary "50" as a motif, I tried to realize a simple layout. The application used is Adobe Photoshop only (I have used this excellent graphics software for about 25 years).

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Width 728 X Height 1030mm

TAGS:
poster, brochure, music, piano, concert

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In designing this poster, Many concert posters designed by photo of performers, musical instruments to play, paintings reminiscent of the era in which classical music was made, which were considered mainstream in production. First of all, we excluded such boring elements sufficiently and then expressing what we then carefully caught how to express this concert briefly. We devised using abstract forms from the diversity of the music played at the concert and the atmosphere of the whole classroom and we were able to get praise from the president of the classroom and related people.

CHALLENGE:
The biggest difficulty was what motifs to use when visualizing something not visible as music. As for posters and flyers of concerts, there were many obsolete things that put musical instruments, staves, and performers at the center of visuals, and I wanted to realize a graphic design that distinguished them from such things. The motif in the center shows a 50-year history of Tomizawa Music School by a quintuple line, while having a shape resembling a piano.

NAME:
Tomizawa Music School

PROFILE:
It is a musical space filled with music that the teacher himself sings, supports the bass and colors with harmony. Those who experienced it in the early stages will be able to enjoy reading, understanding and playing notes from themselves as the grade progresses. Even if interrupted on the way, there are more people who return again, and as a result many music lovers have grown over the years. Another feature is that in lower grades, you are creating a curriculum that is classified according to polyphony, harmony, and technique by songs that match individual abilities without being caught by ready-made textbooks.
