DESIGN NAME:
TM Headquarters

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Headquarters

INSPIRATION:
How effectively can you make effective production inside a casual building? Even while using various materials such as stone, metal and wood, by illuminating the space with soft indirect lighting, the interior of each floor office is made unified. Production of light and shadow was extremely important. Due to the movement of light and shadow, seeing changes in time and external circumstances will refresh officers working internally. I thought that would lead to growth of the company.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Tension and relaxation exist in this office. Various functions are arranged over multiple floors. The ground floor is a friendly store. On the upper floor with headquarters function, the atmosphere of "Zen" drifts and drifts. In the entrance, Maitreya Bodhisattva stays in the dark. Aluminum's vertical lattices brings precision to the space. This blocks the prospects of the two meeting and space spaces. An unnamed and typical tenant space revived as an outstanding headquarters with dignified impression. Aluminum lattices which layered doubly separates the space gently. In the darkness, the statue of Maitreya which is said to "save countless sentient beings" is enshrined on the entrance wall, and welcomes guests gently. Vertical lattices are arranged in an orderly manner, which brings precision to the space. This obstructs the prospects of the two meeting space. This is a screen that reflects the diligent attitude of employees clearly and embodies the dignity and spirituality of the company.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This metal gate by aluminum lattices is located in the center of the office. Even if I passed the field and VIP space to access it, the employee who does it is proud, it also shines beautifully in the eyes of the guest. We can secure the privacy of the meeting space. The double louver softly covers the view of each other but at the same time the meeting of the shoes frequently makes the company feel tense and active activity together.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in April 2016 in Osaka and finished in January 2017 in Osaka, and was exhibited in 3 Architects "Mutetsu" in April 2017.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Interior Space and Exhibition Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The selection of the louver material required a very fine examination. For the aluminum surface, alumite material with moderate reflectivity and silky feel was chosen. Joining with the slit of indirect lighting so as to engage, precision construction was carried out by minimal construction method so that luminaires and extraneous members could not be seen at all.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
A hollow aluminum material having a cross section of 30 mm × 50 mm has strength enough to withstand daily impact. It arranges at 120 mm pitch to form a screen, and it gently shields the line of sight by doubling it.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In performing renovation design, it is difficult to remodel external openings when the target existing buildings are high floors. Here, by impressively incorporating the way of entering light, it brings dramatic changes to the office space that tends to be sterile. By vertical lattices, the rectangular light entering from the existing window changes its appearance through the double lattice and gives time change to two meeting space and corridor shared with guests.

CHALLENGE:
It is not easy to make calmness, healing and integration exist together in a noisy office space. I thought to bring the spirit of Zen, dignified impression to this space. The Maitreya Bodhisattva of the entrance, a restrained indirect lighting and dark corridor. These elements make aluminum lattices that weave various lights and main office and president's office superior.
