Aberdeen is famous of its quaint and charming Fishing Village. Inspired by the location of the restaurant, designers get the insight from the unsophisticated environment and the unique character of the place, such as gold and blue water reflection, blinking of fishes’ scales during sunrise and sunset, also the wooden paddle and fishing tools, those small fishing boats and the living room on boat. Designer use these elements to create a happy dinning place with the concept Happy Fishermen.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Teawood at Aberdeen with the design concept Happy Fishermen due to the historical background of the place, where was a fishing village famous in Hong Kong. With signature pattern of fishing tools and symbolic colour of Hong Kong’s fishing village, designers come up with a contemporary meets traditional interior design.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Throughout study on the historical background of Aberdeen by readying journal and visiting photo exhibition of it, designers also visit those fishermen living on the boat nowadays. Inspired by the wooden tools they use and the positive attitude toward fishing, the Aberdeen store gets into a lively and trad-modern design on fishing and floating village. It works perfectly with the location and meets the expectation of visitor.

CHALLENGE:
Teawood is a fresh brand and targeting youngsters and young professional, the design should not go too far on historical and traditional, thus the design provides contemporary and refreshing look by the use of colour and interesting design of lights and wall decoration. Although the dining area is comparably large, its entrance is extreme unobtrusive and needs highlights to amaze those walk by people. An interesting booth seat near the entrance is designed and successfully raises customer’s curiosity to enter the store.
