| DESIGN NAME: Spring PRIMARY FUNCTION: Choker INSPIRATION: It is inspired by the flower, Baby's Breath. When Yoojin Lee start design jewelry, always look around what's in the nature around her life. The variations in temperature, humidity, and sunlight evoke various feelings for individuals.To her, spring is like cherry blossoms in full bloom and wedding couples' happy sound in the warm and lovely weather. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Design inspired by flower Baby's Breath. The Choker has natural imagery and organic shape elements with architectural compositions which portray my emotion for spring. There is red tourmaline on the middle of the necklace and the color of the other stones become lighter to the end. Soldering small part of wire and chain continuously creates flexibility and stability to wear it. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The choker can lightly and comfortably be worn as a statement piece. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 and finished in November 2016 in California, USA and was exhibited in California, USA in February 2017. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It is a handcraft choker(necklace). Making the geometric shape frame of the choker with square silver wire and small baby's breaths with round silver wire is the first step. After that, solder the baby's breath on the frame. For the chain, i soldered the chain on the wire and soldered the wire on the other chain till create proper length for the neck. After finishing all the soldering and fabrication, i sanded, polished and set the stones on the necklace. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 661.5 Dimension: Width 150mm * Depth 150mm * Height 40mm Materials: Sterling silver, Tourmaline and CZ TAGS: Silver, Neckalce, Choker, Jewelry, Spring, Baby'sbreath, Flower, Diamond, Wearable RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Yoojin Lee spent a large amount of the time understanding the movement of the neck and thought deeply about the seasons. CHALLENGE: Soldering small baby's breath on the necklace was the biggest challenge. Since baby's breath get hot much easily than others, i had to hit a lot on the necklace frame without not melting the baby's breath.
