| DESIGN NAME: Warming Cocoon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office space INSPIRATION: Communication is always the most important issue when it comes to interactions. And what matters the most among it is the way people deliver the feelings and thoughts. Different types of nature logs are used in the project to express different thoughts and cares in different aspects, that putting together to deliver a completion of deeper warmth. Living in a changing world, sincerity is always the key to open others mind. Leaves out complex adds warmth to surrounding is always a good start. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Concrete stands for simple, basic, nature and solid so as to deliver a message of strong and reliable image of the company. Wood, on the other hand, add a touch of warmth to soften the tense of the space. Nature logs are used in the project not only to respond to the concrete surroundings, but also placed in 3 different positions to enclose a warm wood surface region. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The soul of this project is focusing on the natural logs and the logs are leading the way as entering the space. In order to feel and emphasize the warm materials ,the logs, a contrast cold and calm texture, concrete, is used to the surroundings. Warmth are easily felt when entering the space and simple rough environment calm the nerves. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2014 in Taipei and finished in October 2014. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is about 70 meter squares. TAGS: imitate the soul of nature, nature log, simple deepness RESEARCH ABSTRACT: An ancient saying says that all objects imitate the soul of nature. In order to deliver this concept when entering the space, a strong sense of presence are necessary. Not possible to miss the long stand wood piece is the main character of the space, trying to deliver a concept of a simple place where the deep voice can be heard and a lot more can be observed when disturb are put away. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part in this project is finding different logs with long and thickness to make the space lively.
