| DESIGN NAME: Leaved Abstraction PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wall Art INSPIRATION: This project was inspired by a close examination and experimentation with flowers and plants. A series of visual studies of petals and leaves inspired to design abstract compositions that show details of texture, color interaction and natural pattern design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main objective of the Leaved Abstraction project is to show color interactions and natural pattern designs of plants and flowers. A series of visual studies and hands-on experiments with leaves and petals were completed during the design process. The end result of this project demonstrates a series of abstract compositions with a different visual perspective on natural design characteristics of flora. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The wall art object can be used for decorative purposes in a commercial or residential space. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Flower petals and plant leaves were used to design abstract compositions. All ingredients were cut and arranged on paper by hand in a specific order, then photographed and edited in Adobe Photoshop. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Gallery-style art print or canvas print. Available in a range of sizes. TAGS: abstract, art, nature, floral, color, pattern, texture, wall art, crafts RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Visual research included experimentation with leaves and petals, close examination of their natural structure, color and texture, search for similarities and differences, documentation and recording of observations. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge of this project was to design natural abstract compositions with a visual emphasis on patterns, texture and color interaction between leaves and petals. One of the main obstacles was to quickly finish the abstract so it could be photographed while the natural ingredients were still fresh.
