| DESIGN NAME: Woo Screen PRIMARY FUNCTION: Screen INSPIRATION: Inspired by an branch abandoned by the river as we are designing a screen for a teahouse. We want to design a screen that use eco-friendly material and suits the atmosphere. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Woo Screen is a three-fan screen provides natural and relaxing spaces for both public and private places. There are hemp ropes to suspend the whole branch and make it slightly hazy.It is a three dimensional enjoyable screen combines stable form and dynamic sense. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Screen with three fans and can stand on their own.Whether in teahouse furniture such,the living room ,dining room or front office are very appropriate.Decorati PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2016 in Zhengzhou and finished in July 2016,and was exhibited in Zhengzhou University of Light Industry in August 2016. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 5 mm *3 mm Pinewood is used to construct the frame. Chinese lacquer from Sichuan is covered on the woods 30 times to make it anti-corrosion and insect-proof. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width1800 mm *Height 1700 mm*Depth50mm TAGS: Screen, Lacquered Screen, Furniture,Natural, Relaxation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Inheritance and development of fine culture tradition,is on designing innovative premise of today. The research for Woo Screen was mainly conducted to design it in a three dimensional way and make it low impact on environment. NAME: Magpie PROFILE: MAGPIE is a ShockWave Studio's design team. It is made up of experienced undergraduates and graduates from Zhengzhou University of Light Industry. Team members are working on academic research and actual product production and manufacturing. Most of them are currently working for worldwide design companies. They gather together in their spare time and work on same project, longing to make the world a better place to live in and explain what is design good for. |
