| DESIGN NAME: IT office in Changsha PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: The project is a demonstration unit for the property, the designer proposed a casual and relax working environment, where maybe the first casual working space in Changsha, China. Staffs can work on formal working desks, or even on casual sofa and bar counter. Other then the meeting rooms, staffs would also exchange ideas at balcony area. We really hope that all people like to work and stay in this relax working environment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: After 26 optional layouts, the client finally approved and appreciated our design and hard works. A casual and relax working style, sfaffs have no excuses not to work. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As it is a demonstration unit for the property, so the designer needed to think an interesting concept and space which would attract more customers to visit and buy the property. Luckily the feedback and sales figure are very good so far. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2016 and finished in September 2016. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Carpet, vinal flooring, fabric panel and paint finish are the main materials applied. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It is 140 square meter unit. TAGS: Changsha, China, Forte, Showflat, HotKoncepts RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As it is a demonstration unit, therefore the designer needed to realize the local market and type of customers in Changsha. Of course the designer was required to work closely with the marketing team of the client, so that we came up some optional office types for the client's final decision. IT company was selected because it is the major market in this office scale. CHALLENGE: Layout is important in this project. As it is a demonstration unit, we needed a special layout to match the design scheme and also help customers to walk through the unit. Finally, one way flow was proposed, customers can go from the entry, to the conference room, then walk around the big working desk. All areas would be accessed easily. Besides, we needed to think carefully about the ceiling design because the ceiling height under the beam has only less then 2.3m.
