| DESIGN NAME: Original Elements of Life PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel INSPIRATION: The project is located in Hemingzhou Hotspring Resort & Spa, which is far away from the hustle and bustle in cities. The developer targets at building an ideal resort for ecological recuperating and refining one's mind and body. The designers believe that the life should be of high quality in addition to a variety of experiences. Everyone should have a wonderful life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The designers abandon the trifles and use white and natural wood as the main colors. In combination with glasses and open layout, the design breaks the boundaries of the space. When looking at the space and decorations, you can enjoy the aesthetics of simplicity and the design of pursuing the ultimate experience in simplicity. Life is to follow your heart, just relax and forget everything. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Communication and interaction are inseparable factors in the completion process of a project. A lot of works need to be done, including exploring the market information, finding out the differentiation of project, reaching a preliminary planning consensus with developer, following-up in the construction process, etc. It is a long process to create a good effect, where developers and designers often play a role in promoting each other. It is very important that the designers persist in expressing the beauty in this process. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Completed in Jan. 2016, the project is located in Qingyuan, China. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main Materials: oak, matt white latex paint, wood grain brick, grey floortile, marble, clear glass SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Area: 140 sqm TAGS: hotel, interior design, nature, resort & spa, natural wood RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project area is not very large, and it is designed as a boutique hotel. The starting point of our design is to create a hotel of best quality service, peace and quiet environment without too much decoration, where people can put down trouble and enjoy life through the purification of soul. The design concept is based on “pureness” - a word of Chinese Buddhism – which means a clean and peace mind free from external disturbances. The designers simplify the interior decoration to the largest extent so as to emphasize on people’s feelings in the space. Considering the overall environment, the designers make it an ancient Chinese architecture style. The outdoor gives an experience of China's ancient garden, while the interior is a modern relaxed experience. The outdoor and indoor are connected by a home garden. The space experience is from building into the garden and then to the indoor, where people can purify the soul in the experience process. The interior is open and transparent, simple and clear, where there is not much decoration and you have more space for self-imagination. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part in the design is to reach a consensus with the client. The client has a lot of change requirements after seeing the semi-finished construction, and designers adhere to the original design. The project effects are predictive to avoid a variety of communication problems.
