| DESIGN NAME: The Natural Colors PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: With the minimum artificial skills, the colors of the space are naturally created from the outdoor scenery. The painting of plum trees, on the wall at the working area, reveals the client's dignified personality, which symbolizes the beauty and strength shown from the blossom of plum trees in the winter. The combination of physical and mental spirits makes people live in natural environment, and cultivate moral characters. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Due to the fact that the personality of the client is mature and gentle, the designer decided to build up the indoor and outdoor space by using natural stones with plain and elegant style. In order to prevent that the house could be eroded by salt blown by wind for those living along the coastal areas, the designer used both the solid and hollow bricks when building up the walls, the skill which strengthens the visual effects while functioning as vent for air conditioning. Such considerable style without conflictions happening sometimes when making a place is of great advantage like the way applying the spirit of Tai Chi. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: By means of the skillful combination of humanization design and natural landscape at the courtyard, the indoor and outdoor space has reached its completeness and indispensableness. All the efforts and extensive demands to minute items, in the field of design, are only for flawlessly presenting before client the ideal atmosphere and expression about home. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The TV wall, made of black-stroke rocks, interacts with the outdoor wall in strengthening the visual effect, the method presenting the firm connection between the indoor and outdoor space. The irregular pavements of floor brick tiles, in plain colors, give rise to the relaxing and interesting atmosphere in the indoor space. The mature space atmosphere and the main style of silence have symbolized the growth of plants which rooted deeply in earth. Living in this residence, people shall experience the extraordinary atmosphere created from the sky, earth, and walls. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 450 square meters TAGS: Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: At the beginning of the design plan, the designer applied the construction materials and 3D technology in simulating factors of places and scales having impacts on daylight reception in the house. Therefore, the well-prepared design plan will modify the architectural environment to its best condition. That, the indispensable relationship between the building appearance and interior design, and the interaction between 2-dimensional and 3-dimentional space, shall have an impact on the indoor atmosphere and amenity. CHALLENGE: In the open space, the black-framed glass door connects the kitchen space with the other part of indoor space and prevents the entire indoor space from the cooking smell. The round dining table, underneath the simple-style ceiling, symbolizes the family gathering and reunion, and functions as the medium space among the living room, kitchen, and staircase. The grooved rectangular section, on the ceiling, has been designed for lightings and air conditionings. The partial lightings, at night, save energy.
