| DESIGN NAME: The Archives of Agricultural PRIMARY FUNCTION: Agricultural INSPIRATION: Some old and beautiful farming symbols used in particular ages were extracted from the file collected by Liu Songtai, such as Suzhou Code and some typography and picture. They were recombination and listed in the book cover and on the book packing, showing the life style of particular ages. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In order to be closer to file, a full enclosed book cover was designed. Readers can open the book only after tearing it. This involvement let the readers experience the process of opening a file. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When readers get the book, he need to open the seal of the slipcase can see the book, such as opening a sealed years of archives. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2015 in Dongguan and finished in August 2016 in Dongguan, and was Released in South China Book Festival in August 2016. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Four color printing, Black stamping, 240 gsm Ivory paper, 80 gsm Mengken paper, Corrugated paperboard. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 175mm*Depth 51mm*Height 245mm TAGS: Archives, Agricultural, Historical facts, Book, Dongguan, China RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This is a book about the local agricultural from 50s to the end of 70s, nearly 600 pages, hundreds of pictures, more than one hundred thousand words, too much information, there is a certain difficulty for readers. so the convenience of the reader, when i design the book, i aware of the importance of the chapters. Plus the title for the farming archives, design must be close to the content, i design a sealed slipcases, this design also allows readers to truly experience the precious archives, more interactive, more experience. CHALLENGE: Breaking the conventional way of thinking, the book is categorized to agriculture, people livelihood, agricultural and sideline, agricultural finance and agricultural policy.
