| DESIGN NAME: Florence PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wiring accessories line INSPIRATION: Design has been inspired by masterpieces of the Renaissance epoch. The great architect Brunelleschi, who created the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral, had proved that the art of engineering together with design is able to conceive absolute masterpieces. The famous dome gained recognition as a symbol of the Renaissance epoch. The general idea for «Florence» was to follow the tradition of classics, harmony of proportions and fill it with modern design and technologies. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The line of wiring accesories “Florence”consis OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Florence is a whole line of wiring accesories. It includes earthed socket with protective shutter and screw contacts, earthed socket with screw contacts, unearthed socket with screw contacts, earthed assembled double socket with screw contacts, earthed socket with cover and screw contacts, telephony socket 1xRJ11, computer socket 1xRJ45, Cat.5e UTP, Double telephony socket, double computer socket RJ45, TV antenna socket, Single-key switch, Double-key switch, Single-key switch with light, Double-key switch with light, Triple-key switch, Dimmer 600 W for glow - and halogen lamps, Single frame, Double frame, Triple frame, Fourfold frame, Fivefold frame. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Polycarbonate plastic (PC) with matte finish SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: height 36 mm width 80 mm lenght 55 mm TAGS: switch, sockets, wiring accessories, electrical appliances, electric RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We researched Fillipo Bruneleschi`s work in particular and took it as an inspiration. As well as Reneissance epoch in general and outstanding architecture of Florence. We took Golden Ratio and correlation between round and squre shape as a basis for our design. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to make a new design line in the low-cost segment of the market, that will be looking like more expensive and that will be different from all exsisiting ones, yet attractive. We had to keep it low-cost in production.
