| DESIGN NAME: The Interaction of Space Variations PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: The Office 954 project is an interior design case remodeling from a traditional general building. The frequent communications between client and designing team make the requirements for this office more clear and definite. When coming up with the design strategy for this case, the designer have to take into consideration the communication styles with the client at the different stages in design schedule, the circumstances that the designer creates more interaction opportunities designing a specific subject and flexible variations without complexity. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The porch, a medium between the outdoor and indoor space, is furnished with wooden grille and bamboo ceiling curtain that create translucent dynamic visual effect by means of flat and vertical lines in a limited space. The thick sandblasted sycamore woods is made up for porch and TV wall, the design connecting different spaces. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After coming in, we can see couches at the reception area, in which the comfortable and soft beige couches make people at ease expressing their imaginations about design. A big oil paint, behind the couch, creates the perceptual atmosphere bringing visitors back to their old memory. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in June 2011 in Taichung City. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Technical issues, the next stage of communication, bring the space structure to another level. At the meeting area, different from the couch area, the log tables and chairs, and colorful wall shelves display the professional and firm characteristics. The wall shelves transform the conflictions that is made from the stairs in traditional buildings. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 45 square meters TAGS: Office RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design of abstract oil painting and large wall shelves come from the idea of Mondrian, the master of De Stiji. Such expression implicitly indicates the common and distinct elements among spaces and sticks to the subject idea without deviation. When sitting on the couches at the perceptual area, everyone can feel the orderly elements. In the same way, the rattan lamps show the warm and casual atmosphere felt at perceptual area. The rationality exists in sensibility and sensibility exists in rationality. CHALLENGE: By means of the interesting space reallocation, the professional and emotional conversations between client and designer, and the trustworthy skills to the design team, this mission is accomplished with satisfaction.
