| DESIGN NAME: Porto Ferreira PRIMARY FUNCTION: Gift pack INSPIRATION: The Portuguese advertising agency Omdesign was entirely responsible for the creativity and production of the unique and exclusive edition of the Gift pack Porto Ferreira - Waterloo Vintage 1815. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This packaging was especially designed for the auction of the mythical Port wine Waterloo Vintage 1815, produced by Porto Ferreira brand, by Sotheby's. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It was created to be offered to all attending the Sotheby's auction, a solidarity event which was held at the emblematic Tower of London, in May 2015, to mark the celebration of the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2015 in Porto (Portugal) and finished in May, in London, with the auction by Sotheby's. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Packaging Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The outer part of the packaging shows the paddle used in the auction for the bidding. The opening of the packaging reveals the most important years of Humanity, the Douro and the company, from 1815 until 2015. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 230 mm x Depth 110 mm x Height 330 mm TAGS: Sotheby's, Auction, Porto Ferreira, Waterloo Vintage 1815, Luxury, Omdesign, Port wine, Packaging RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Inside, there is also a bottle of Porto Ferreira Dona Antónia Tawny Reserva and a booklet, produced by Omdesign, with an explanation of the new concept of luxury endorsed by the brand, as well as the history of the mythical wine 'Waterloo Port', thus baptised by the English aficionados, and which went down in history as the most expensive Vintage ever auctioned. CHALLENGE: Gift pack Porto Ferreira - Waterloo Vintage 1815 was made to be offered and used for the bidders during the auction of Waterloo Vintage 1815 wine, so Omdesign decided to develop a design in line of the image specially created for the new concept 'Luxury of Time', adopted by Porto Ferreira brand.
