| DESIGN NAME: GLANCEZ SS16 The Garden PRIMARY FUNCTION: Women Clothing INSPIRATION: Label originating in Hong Kong. Inspired by watercolour painting from Russia, blending culture and beauty with high quality clothing. The collection reflects a playful yet sophisticated style for every women to enjoy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The SS16 floral prints are created by a Russian artist specialised in landscape watercolour painting, original hand-painted artwork translated into digital print. Fabric for this design is called Neoprene, synthetic material which creates an airy and volume look. The design meant to draw attention and covers the unseen part of body due to enlarged floral prints and airy material that doesn't sit on body. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Zera contacted over 100 factories specialised in high quality digital printing. Went through the details with manufacturer regarding stitching, button choosing, fabric swatches, printing for 5 months constantly. Travelled several times for production speculation. The whole process took longer than usual as we were new to the industry. But now we are experienced and ready to be better and better each time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2015 in Malaysia and finished in August 2015. The debut of the collection was on 1st of September online in Malaysia. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We had legal permission for painting re-production from the artist. Translated hand-painted artwork into digital print. The fabric materials are mainly Neoprene and chiffon. Both are synthetic material, Neoprene 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex with slight stretchable. Chiffon is 100% Polyester. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Peonies Pleat Top. Material: 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex. Dimension: Length 56cm/ 22". Color Block Collar Pleat Top. Material: 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex. Dimension: Length 53cm/ 21". Sakura Pleat Dress. Material: 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex. Dimension: Length 82cm/ 32". We have the legal permission to do re-production with the original prints created by the artist herself. TAGS: Art, Fashion, Designer, Digital Print, Peonies, Sakura, Dress, Top, Neoprene RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Women tend to attracted to flower and vibrant color. Inspired us to create pieces that draw attention. Therefore, we used bold prints and pastel color for this collection. Once collection launched, we received collaboration opportunities with major fashion companies and nominated as representative of Malaysia for WFW Paris. In business point of view, brand must has consistency, novelty and products are worth the money. Consumers are becoming more intelligent when it comes to comparison, to gain loyalty from consumers is to be loyal to them, bring them beautiful creations, excellent service, and reasonable prices. CHALLENGE: Textile printing. As the original print came in a smaller dimension with a lot more flowers in one picture. We had to enlarge the picture and remove some of the flowers from the picture. We did several test prints on fabric to make it perfect. Pleating. As Neoprene is a thicker material, it's requires machine with higher temperature to pleat. Lastly, is to attach pleated silhouettes, as it requires patience to sew them together in slow motion to prevent overlay by mistake.
