| DESIGN NAME: Rank Badge PRIMARY FUNCTION: Product design INSPIRATION: Officer decoration existed accompanying with the robes, and it was restricted by the imperial court, which could not made with large quantity. At present, they become historical relic collections. In order to keep the exquisite and unique culture, with the subject of auspicious beast, 1983ASIA broke the limits of time and spaces, Wu series is refined with the identity of Asian, by means of modern method, according to inexhaustible stories of officer decoration in exquisite and delicate view. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a spontaneous project researched with the subject of 1983ASIA. In ancient days of China, the square ornament on the front and at the back of the robes of officers, showing birds and beasts images, which were made of gold thread and colored threads were referred to as officer decoration. Birds were for civil officers, and beasts of prey were for military officers, including 9 grades for the different titles. It properly interpreted the meaning of auspicious beasts for Chinese people. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We chose warm and beautiful colors with high saturation. Each pattern has as much 7-8 colors. At last, by a dozen times of printing, proofing and other methods, the final colors were determined. At the same time, we also tried 4-5 kinds of fabric. The material finally determined has special vision, smooth feeling and reasonable price. We hope that through this design the world can see freshness and vitality of an ancient kingdom. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 1983ASIA summarized design features of benevolent on official patch in the dynasties in Asia, redrew with bold techniques, scanned it into the computer, deconstructed and designed through AI, PS and other software, constantly adjusted into fashion accessories loved by modern young people, and gave the new guarding definition to the traditional cultural totem laid aside and neglected by people. NAME: 1983ASIA PROFILE: It comes from a faith. 1983 ASIA is co-founded by Su SU (Tianjin, China) and YAO (Malaysia) in Shenzhen China.We are very glad that we were guided by K&L. After years of experience of handling projects, we made several brands also achieve ourselves.However, after the joy come again and again, it left us endless thought. We grew up in Asia which was measured by western culture. In this case, the identity of Asian is getting vague.We used to let the treasure of us go, but we have to learn how to reunite the world. The cultural convergence left us regret for globalization and internationalization.“Sometimes, traditional Asian culture is a fetter of western.”We are inspired astonishingly that only tracing to the source can solve the inner contradiction. Based on Asian and designer, we tried to break the bound of concepts and used art design to show our experience and achievement through studying Asian culture.Turning invisible culture into glamorous Asian visual product is the lost-for–long happiness that we reach for in the world. |
