| DESIGN NAME: JinGoo PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wireless Audio Light INSPIRATION: JinGoo means melodious voice of orioles in ancient Chinese poems. Crafted with traditional East Asian materials and techniques, JinGoo brings the traditional Oriental furnishings cage into the modern home. Like ancient poem, enjoy a warm and leisurely corner at home, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: JinGoo is a wireless audio player and mood lighting. It is designed to produce beautiful light and sound in a contemporary design best to simulate in natural contexts of a home. JinGoo uses powerful lithium batteries and energy-saving LED lamps. It is all about mobility and enjoy music playback throughout the day on a single charge. The wooden cage base is a powerful subwoofer, encased by the wired metal cage and wood frame. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Bird: Ceramic Craft The body of the bird is formed from molds for production precision and fired in the traditional kilns by the masters in Yingge. The colors and patterns of the birds are created from ceramic decal techniques, which went through an exhaustive experimental process to conform to the curved surface of the bird's body and ensure the perfection of the decorations. The Base: Distinctive Wood Grains Teak is used for base of the white bird cages. The Taiwan Acacia is used for the base of the black bird cages The Speaker: JinGoo features a mono 2-way speaker, the low frequency woofer speaker is positioned in the base structure and its sound waves are reflected by the ceramic tail of the bird. Together with sound waves from the tweeter, in the bird's body, a wide stereo effect is created. The owners, enjoying a carefree and abundant lifestyle, would take their birds in cages for strolls in early mornings and admire the bird's songs while writing and reciting poetry. We hope to bring back this leisurly lifestyle to urban homes and its inhabitants that live daily in haste and under pressures. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of the design is the combination of multiple material, including ceramic, metal, wood and plastic. We hope to incorporate uniquely local materials and culture into our work even when it is for the design of electronic products. Each JinGoo is put together and brought to life by warm and caring hands. As designers, we hope to bring together traditional craft and modern technology to create beautiful things and elevate user experiences as well as their lifestyles. DAQI CONCEPT INC., was founded in July, 2015 by a team of product designers and introduced the DAQI CONCEPT lifestyle and home products brand in the same year. |
