| DESIGN NAME: Bow tie chair PRIMARY FUNCTION: Armchair INSPIRATION: Bamboo is one of the symbols of Taiwanese cultures. Bow Tie Chair utilizes the flexibility and strength of Taiwanese bamboo to perform a brand-new style of modern furniture. It present Taiwanese's firm and indomitable inspiration. With repeated combination of laminated bamboo and heating bamboo up several times, Bow tie chair creates smooth curves and excellent shape. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bow Tie Chair is produced with Taiwan laminated bamboo. With repeated combination of laminated bamboo, it delivers a concept of simplicity and fashion. The storage area is constructed by heating bamboo up several times to create curves on different parts. It offers users an experience of comfort and good ventilation. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Seats PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2015 in Taipei and finished in June 2015 in Nantou, and was exhibited in Tokyo design week in October 2015. Bamboo is one of the best furniture materials, and it could be extensively used and delivers concept of environmental protection. NAME: Gridesign studio PROFILE: Ching-Ke Lin is the owner of Gridesign Studio. His products’ both concepts and styles are unique and creative, which including rich meanings of localize culture. In the process of design, he has the experimental spirit like scientists, the sensitivity to surrounding like hunters and curiosity like children looking to everything to find out new product’s opportunity. Moreover, mention to his working experience, he worked for design firms, product design department in householder application brand, and product design department in Tech brand. He learned and now has the skills of craft, product design, graphic design and interior design. He wishes he could pay his effect to let Taiwan be the cultural landmark in Greater China. |
