| DESIGN NAME: Halls of Light PRIMARY FUNCTION: Revamped Studio INSPIRATION: The project, commissioned by the Christian-based radio Broadcasting network, aims to deliver a revamped Studio cum multi-purpose hall that seeks to engage pioneering youths and similar talents for interplay. Its moody background further excite the design intent in visual and sensory prospects. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Not wanting to diminish its core function, audio-inclined rooms makes up a huge identity of the enclosed interior with workstations; control and audio recording rooms, perfectly suited for coming of age Christian teens. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Albeit commercially thought out for, the importance of isolation is further stressed upon with its deep halls and deliberate penetrations that seemingly lead users to remoteness. One’s circumambulation is further assisted with the dimly lit letters illuminating from whence it’s carved upon, establishing gesticulation fluidity. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The overall design and detailing took 2 month from the date of the first proposal till the overall renovation from August 2014 to October 2014 in Singapore. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Its halls for praise and adoration too, were revamped to keenly adapt to the modern era of Austerity. Volume reverberation and equalization were key factors taken into consideration whilst designing that ultimately, dictated its simple yet grandiose outcome.
