| DESIGN NAME: Ultimate series PRIMARY FUNCTION: High performance audio system INSPIRATION: Most electronic designs are going to be much simpler, compact and modern these days, but the existing high performance audio devices don’t get toward the concept, so I decided to make one which can exactly fit the concept and I created Ultimate series. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Ultimate series is a complete high performance audio system including a server, dac, pre amplifier and power amplifier with the purest power supply based in one shape of chassis. All details like simplified appearance, a separated top cover from the body, a rubber company logo which makes the product not too cold, a switch knob looks apart from the edge of front panel and a white colored OLED display make some difference from others. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Just like other audio systems, connect each device by audio signal cables, power cables and network cables, and make a home local network connection. And what you need to do is power the Ultimate series on, and simply browse and play music by the remote control App on your smart devices. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2012 in Korea and will finalize by June,2015, it was exhibited and demonstrated in many numerous audio shows world-widely like CES, Munich High-End, SIAS...... PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Ultimate series uses anodized aluminum material with the special gloss control, it makes the product much classy appearance. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Ultimate series consists of four different devices like a network music server with player, a combined DAC and pre-amplifier, a DC power supply and a D-class power amplifier, the former 3 devices are the same dimensions as 360mm×68mmx240mm and for the latter, a D class power amplifier is 360mm×88mmx240mm. All devices use the highest digital technology which supports the newest features of network audio system like 384KHz/32bit, DSD format, various lossless audio file format, remote control APP. TAGS: audio, music server, network player, dac, amp, digital source, converter, music, amplifier, SOtM, soul of the music RESEARCH ABSTRACT: My research was started from audio products mainly and expanded to consumer electronics, cars and variety of other accessories through internet, magazines or real show sites. Also I asked numerous audiophiles in real audio industries to review my first design concept and I could modify my prototype based on some advise from them, finally my design came to fruition to the real products on the market. CHALLENGE: The positioning was the hardest part of the design, each element should be well placed and matched to make comfortable and classy appearance of the product.
