| DESIGN NAME: Two covers PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pencil case INSPIRATION: It inspired from tension of rubber piece string of outdoor poles. The rubber string through cylinder and connect each other parts of pole also it make useful close each parts. On the other hands it is fordable for useful to carry. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The two rubber covers of case connected by rubber string also this is uni body and through the acrylic cylinder. It can make to possible open both way and useful close naturally by rubber tension. Namely people can open and close spontaneously more than other pencil case. Also it has additional function that people can hang rubber cover to small carving on the cylinder when they want to use continuously on the desk. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: How to people can use easily, playful with practical object. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 4months (from September to December) Ecal (ECAL/Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne ) |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Rubber part made by injection molding and a case made by extrusion acrylic. Also those surfaces has matt texture for grip of case. The case has possibility made by many kinds of material such as plastic, Aluminum metal, wood and so on. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: case : 180 x 50 (mm) rubber cover : 170 x 50 (mm) TAGS: Stationary, Pencil case, case, rubber, tension RESEARCH ABSTRACT: How to improve people life, behave with common object. CHALLENGE: The essential method of this project is tension and hardness of rubber part. For example if tension is not enough strong it open easily then pencils are fall down or if it is too strong inconvenient open for user.
