| DESIGN NAME: Alien 3.0 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Boudoir table INSPIRATION: Alien 3.0 inspired by the extraterrestrial beings and created in connection with attractive shape and perfect finishing. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Alien 3.0 is a limited edition of 12 copies. Each piece is handcrafted by Italian masters. Alien 3.0 has unique design. Inspired by the extraterrestrial beings image it was created in connection with eye-catching shape and perfect finishing. A boudoir table have three mirrors that can rotate. Several layers of lacquering gives a depth to a color and brilliant reflection to the surface. Alien 3.0 is an impressive sample of contemporary design and an object of desire for collectors. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Alien 3.0 has joyful design and can be an impressive accent in interior. Boudoir table has three mirrors. Each of them can rotate. This allows to catch the best light on a skin. Also it can be possibility to play with final image of the item. The mirrors can look like eyes of a friendly extraterrestrial being. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2014. First version Alien with 2 mirrors was presented during Milan Design Week 2014. In September 2014 it was showcased at 100% Design London. Specially by order of French Auction House was created Alien 3.0 limited edition version with 3 mirrors. In November 2014 The first copy of the limited series was successfully sold into a private collection on auction in Paris. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Each piece is handcrafted by Italian masters. Alien 3.0 is made in connection of High-glossy lacquered wood, metal and beveled mirror. The boudoir table is carefully painted, lacquered and polished several times. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 1400 mm x 400 Depth mm x 1350 Height mm TAGS: limited edition, design, high-end furniture, auction, console, table, alien, ekaterina elizarova RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Before the console table achieved its final shape a lot of stories about extraterrestrial beings were read. It was an interesting challenge to create an object of contemporary design inspired by them. CHALLENGE: Alien 3.0 has special design and very thin legs. NAME: Ekaterina Elizarova PROFILE: Ekaterina Elizarova, an interior and product designer, is a member of International Association of Designers and a bright representative of the new wave of young designers. She prides herself in working closely with the world-known brands. She is a graduate of the Ural Academy of Architecture and Arts and the University of Huddersfield (UK). Being the lucky fusion of the Russian and British education she proves that design has no boundaries. Ekaterina founded her own design studio which specializes in product design, residential and public interiors. Ekaterina is the winner of numerous international design awards. Her works were shown on Milan Design Week, Salone Satellite, ISALONI, Ventura Lambrate, 100%DESIGN London, Russian Design Pavilion, Beijing Design Week, etc. Ekaterina’s products are exhibited in galleries and showrooms in Russia and Europe. |
