| DESIGN NAME: The Universe PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: Images by Hubble telescope are true, exciting inspiration. For far there in the universe - much further than we can see, everything moves, flows, mists over, forms and becomes. That is the Universe of Anita Sondore. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Here, the first moment, flash of the UNIVERSE. For one this moment will appear in the form of a snake, another it will be the Milky Way or the fragile leaf of a tree. It is not important. The most important thing is that you experience it, that you be. In the eternity ring. The first, many will follow, in bracelets, earrings. Everything is one, and one is everything. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Owner may decide which side to wear the ring. The ring has two different appearances. Its very comfortable to wear, soft but in the same time makes a powerful statement about the women who wear it. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Universe project started in May 2013 in suburb of Riga, Europe's most northern capital city, and finalised in January 2014. The ring was presented in JA New York Summer Show 2014 at the New Designer gallery and was featured in www.accessoriesmagazine.com as an "Item of the day.Anita Sondore" by Jeff Prine. It was also presented at Los Angeles Art Show 2015. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Could be done in 925 silver ring,Gold plated 925 silver ring or rhodium plated 925 silver ring, or black rhodium plated 925 silver ring. Could be done in 750 white gold or yellow gold ring. Can be Satin finish or Matt. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Elevation from finger base of 5 to 10mm, comes in a jewellery box. Silver ring 19-24g. Gold ring 29-31g. TAGS: jewellery, ring, jewellery design, silver, yellow gold, white gold RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For me The Universe was always like a miracle which looks very different form different points of view . In this project I was trying to explore the fluency of movements , which changes the forms , making them look different by looking at them from different positions. It is also reflected to our social life, how we look at the things, are we able to see different subjects from the different points or are accepting only one opinion? CHALLENGE: When was creating the Universe ring my biggest challenge and wish was to create a piece which is powerful and soft the same time, which is light and heavy the same time like all thinks in our life... and where all these different characteristics together are making a harmony as we can see in Universe. Anita is a graduate of the University of Latvia with a BA in visual and applied arts, technical drawing, and has an MBA from the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration. Her jewelry training started at the Auzers Jewelry Art Center in Riga, followed by gold smith classed at the Ermini School of Jewelry in Rome and classes at the famed Van Cleef & Arpels atelier in Paris.
