| DESIGN NAME: MISS-ed BEAUTY PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sustainability office Interior Design INSPIRATION: A new thinking makes a new beginning. Using some surplus material to create a beautiful feature. Hope this message makes the people realize that “rubbish” can be beautiful, as long as we use our new thinking to give it a new life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: There are many beautiful things, but we missed it. The local design studio design by the young designer, the site is located in the industrial building, where the new GREENLAND for the young creative people, such as the designer, musician, photographer and artist. The reason why Tik thinks that is because it’s inexpensive for rent, practical and the interior industrial structure is beautiful, but we ignore it. Therefore, Tik decided the concept of this project is MISS-ed BEAUTY. With the concept of MISS-ed BEAUTY, we started to think about from the material. We want to use some beautiful material but inexpensive, something that we always use it, but we ignore it. When Tik went to the site, he saw the contractor was using some timber strip create the grid base structure for partition, or even just use that for the temporary structure pole for holding the hanging cabinet. The contractor also said that the timber strip made by a worse timber or surplus timber. So there are a lot of different colours and texture on the same strip. Imagine that would be a great picture if we using a numbers of strip to create a partition wall finishes. That absolutely is the right material for the design concept and the key feature in this project. So now, we got some interesting nature recycled timber strip, and we needed some more nature feel finishes in other parts, so we chose some concrete feels wall paint and we created the plant wall in the conference room for the new GREENLAND in the industrial building. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Using all Led spot light to save energy, to reduce the waste of renovation material, we keep all the existing flooring (even this is really ugly), moving all old furniture from the old office and using recycle timber strip, surplus timber from the renovation site. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: appox 100 sqm TAGS: INTERIOR, DESIGN, SPACE, OFFICE, RECYCLED TIMBER, GREEN PLANT RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: we had to choose the right recycled material matching with our design concept. And it needs to be absolutely beautiful. We want to use some beautiful material but inexpensive, something that we always use it, but we ignore it.
