| DESIGN NAME: Silks Place Hotel PRIMARY FUNCTION: Tainan INSPIRATION: This project aims to thoughtfully units traditional Chinese architecture and the aesthetics of ancient scholars. Showcasing decorative elements of ancient Chinese Arts and Crafts. A fresh reinterpretation of the old and presenting with a modern touch. It is not about the house rules, but more about its soul. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A PLACE WITH THOUGHT Recreating the literary culture, passing down the creative arts. Located in Central West District , and being the oldest capital of Taiwan since Ming Dynasty, Silks Place Hotel is the first luxury hotel of its kind in Tainan city. By embracing history and culture of this city, designer takes “OLD ACADEMY” as design concept. Bring in literary culture and Minnan style architectural elements to decorate the space, blending traditional materials into the interior. The design traces back ancient Chinese private college imageries, showcasing generous texture and artifacts.
