Profile: Fahrettin Aykut

About Fahrettin Aykut : Fahrettin Aykut started his academic education at Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Architecture and Design in 1987. Afterwards, he was a visiting student at Vienna Technical University between 1990-1991. In 1993, after completing his undergraduate education, he completed his master's degree in Interior Architecture at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. In 1996, he founded his company Faar Concept and he is still continuing his works. Fahrettin Aykut, since the beginning of his academic life, his basic principle is to search for the answers to the questions "What?" and "How?" separately, first find an answer to the question "What?" and then manage the design process by thinking that there will be a "How?" accordingly. In other words, it is not to move from style, but to create the content first and then to determine the appropriate style according to the geography and its suitability in place, according to the person, the target audience, is his design journey design process. In this process, it ensures its innovation within its own values, within its own capabilities, and thinks that this is what makes it different.
FAAR CONCEPT, which means Fahrettin Aykut Area Responsibility, is a platform that focuses on involving individuals in art, design and craft from the very beginning with a special emphasis on the architectural field. Collaborating with artists in his workshop, he prioritize accurate analysis and original content creation. Whether it's designing a hotel, a coffee table, or a conceptual installation, his approach centers on content-driven design. He consider all factors simultaneously, including target audience, time, budget, and local values Within the FAAR brand, FAARi goes beyond decorative art, becoming a reference element intertwined with architecture. It also aims to empower artists and craftsmen, fostering their active participation in society and expanding channels for art production. His current endeavors involve a mix of young and seasoned artists shaping his Çukurcuma gallery in Istanbul, alongside local craftsmen from across Turkey. FAARi offers a collection of locally made, sustainable, and modern art design products to ensure their accessibility to a wider audience.
