INSPIRATION: The oxygen-enriched irrigator is specifically designed to reduce anaerobic bacteria in the oral cavity. Medical evidence indicates that the prolonged presence of anaerobic bacteria in the oral cavity can lead to the formation of dental plaque, resulting in issues such as periodontitis. In aerobic conditions, the activity of anaerobic bacteria significantly decreases, leading to a substantial reduction in their numbers and effectively minimizing the occurrence of oral problems. Our oxygen-enriched dental irrigator utilizes an oxygen-enriched structure, aiming to effectively reduce the proliferation of anaerobic bacteria, ensuring optimal oral health.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Oxygen-rich Oral Irrigator is specifically designed to reduce anaerobic bacteria in the oral cavity. Medical evidence indicates that prolonged presence of anaerobic bacteria in the oral cavity will cause the formation of dental plaque, leading to issues such as periodontitis. In the presence of oxygen, the activity of anaerobic bacteria decreases significantly, resulting in a substantial reduction in their quantity, thereby effectively minimizing the occurrence of oral problems. Our Oxygenating Dental Irrigator, with its oxygenation structure, is crafted to efficiently decrease the proliferation of anaerobic bacteria, ensuring optimal oral health.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: AI detects the user's oral condition and recommends the optimal oxygen content and water pressure. Users can also independently adjust the oxygen-to-water ratio and water pressure according to their preferences and needs through continuous and infinite adjustments. The adjustment of water pressure can be done either through the sensing adjustment on the handheld device or through touchscreen controls on the screen, catering to the diverse usage habits of different users.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project commenced in Shanghai in February 2021 and concluded its conceptual research and development in January 2022 in Shanghai.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The sturdy metal body, coupled with a semi-enclosed transparent water tank on the side, not only ensures a comfortable grip but also enhances the overall aesthetics of the home.
The water tank is made of semi-transparent material, allowing users to monitor the oxygenation status at any time.
The top touch screen display on the main unit not only continuously shows the oxygen content within the dental floss but also enables users to easily adjust the oxygen levels, providing an intelligent and personalized oral care experience.
The main unit pump is equipped with oxygenation technology, allowing for controlled oxygen content.
Both the oxygen-containing channel and the water tank utilize antibacterial silver ion sterilization.
Oxygen-enrichment technology achieves oral sterilization and ensures the sterilization of water in the tank, achieving comprehensive sterilization throughout the entire system.
AI detection assesses the user's oral environment, enabling personalized customization of oxygen levels for oral care.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design process incorporated extensive literature research, establishing an academic and theoretical foundation for oxygen-enrichment technology.
Testing experiments involved numerous simulated oral experiments to validate and compare oral health conditions under different oxygen concentrations.
Medical practitioner interviews facilitated communication to gain insights into more practical user requirements and the most recommended approaches by doctors.
CHALLENGE: The most challenging aspect of the design process was the need for extensive data research on the complex relationship between oral environments and oxygen content. The oral cavity itself constitutes a intricate ecological environment, highly individualized, and its dynamic nature posed significant challenges to our simulated experiments. Ultimately, we overcame these challenges by integrating representative oral states through big data, establishing our own database through rigorous experimental environment control, and conducting testing over a period of six months.
